BDO in India presents The GSTimes, our bi-monthly newsletter on the world of indirect taxes. The GSTimes aims to cover the impact, GST has had on various industries, whilst also touching upon recent developments from around the globe. Each issue of the newsletter focuses on one sector and features an eminent face to explain, how the adoption and adaptation of GST, has impacted their daily business activities. The Information technology sector has led the economic transformation of the country and altered the perception of India in the global economy. India is one of the biggest IT capitals of the modern world and all major players from the global IT sector are present in the country. The Indian IT and ITeS industry is divided into four major segments – IT services, Business Process Management (BPM), software products and engineering services, and hardware.

Considering the role that it can play in the growth story of the economy and its sizable contribution to global trade, the government has recognised this as an important sector for promotion and development and have been proactive with their measures/ initiatives to encourage further growth of the sector.
