The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic has swept across the country, impacting both rural and urban regions alike. While the governments both at the Centre and State-level focus on ramping-up domestic capacities, the facilities are failing to meet the soaring demands. The rising cases, stressed healthcare infrastructure and shortage of medical supplies have led the government and citizens to import essential supplies like oxygen concentrators, life-saving drugs, medical equipments etc.

To battle the situation effectively, the government is determined to ensure that medical supplies are easily available and accessible to all. To this effect, in order to facilitate seamless transitions and quick clearances of these critical medical essentials, several relaxations and relief measures are being announced by the Union Government.
