Indian Aerospace Manufacturing Ecosystem
20 February 2019
India is currently the 5th largest military spender and is poised to be the 3rd largest civil aviation market by 2024. There is growing demand to fulfil the shortage of aircrafts in the Indian Air Force, from this expanding industry. In view of lack of domestic manufacturing capabilities in India, this industry needs attention.
With an aim to reduce dependence on imports and achieving self-reliance, the government of India launched initiatives like ‘Make in India’, ‘Skill India’, to strengthen India’s Aerospace and Defence manufacturing sector and boost the private industries around Design & Development (D&D), Research & Development (R&D), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Engineering designs.
BDO in India in association with ASSOCHAM, are pleased to present a report on the Indian Aerospace Manufacturing Ecosystem. The report provides an overview of the global and Indian aerospace industry encompassing the civil and military segments, along with the key growth drivers and technological trends affecting manufacturing in the sector.
The report further dwells into the ecosystem highlighting its current state of affairs, capability gaps, and challenges to overcome those for matching global capability levels.
