Senior cyber security professional and expert Mubin Shaikh has joined as Partner – Cyber Security at BDO. Shaikh will be based out of Mumbai and will be looking after the western and northern regions in India.

Prior to joining BDO, he was a cyber security partner at KPMG, where he was managing cyber security business for western India and the Gulf region. Shaikh specialises in cyber strategy and governance, NIST/ISO standards, cyber défense, Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, Disaster recovery, Practice Management, Business planning strategy and execution, among others.

“In today’s hyper-connected world, digitisation is changing business models rapidly enhancing customer reach and introducing newer services. However, it is also exposing businesses to larger and frequent data breaches/cyber-attacks. In such times, ‘Digital Trust’ has become the most important currency to establish credibility with employees, customers and vendor partners. This has led to a new way organisations perceive Cybersecurity,” said Shaikh.

BDO India’s Cyber Security practice is a team of experts bringing together years of expertise & experience, with CERT-in empanelment, to perform cybersecurity work with the Government of India and its public entities. Leveraging their global experience and expertise of professionals, the firm offers cyber security services including but not limited to in-depth cyber strategy and governance services, privacy services, cyber security tools implementation and cyber resilience. BDO in India also has a 24 x 7 Security Operations Center to monitor cyber threats, generate alerts and take immediate response actions. Their managed security services are delivered from a Cyber Security Operations Center (C-SOC).

“We, at BDO India, believe that Cybersecurity is a journey which organisations need to embark on to achieve their business objectives in a safe and secure manner. This will enforce a holistic view on cybersecurity rather than only implementing few tools/technologies. We foresee the biggest change to be in the adoption of “Cybersecurity culture” not just internally but also by vendor partners in their ecosystem,” added Shaikh.

BDO India’s technical Cybersecurity team is specialised in technical assessments including: Red Teaming Exercise, Penetration Testing & Web Application Security Assessment, Mobile and IOT Security Testing, Cloud Security Audits and Phishing Exercise.
