Indirect Tax Alert - Implementing amendments pertaining taxation of Online Gaming and Casino

Earlier, the Union Government had passed the Central Goods and Services Tax and Integrated Goods and Services Tax Amendment Bills which proposed to bring various amendments in respect of the Online Gaming and Casino Industry along with the valuation mechanism for the same under the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017. The Government has notified these provisions with effect from 1 October 2023 along with further relevant amendments.
