Post liberlisation financial markets in India witnessed fundamental transformation. The Indian banking sector in particular has received wide ranging changes over the years and continues to be well-regulated. This sector is one of the largest services sector in India and contributes significantly to the economic growth of the nation. Owing to the nature and volume of operations provided, the implementation of GST proved challenging to this sector initially. However, today with the simplified tax regime in place and updated processes, the banking sector continues to flourish and contribute towards the economic development of the country.
