The automobile sector of India is one of the largest in the world and has been an important contributor to the Indian economy, accounting  for over 7.1% of India’s gross domestic product (GDP). However, over the last few years, the sector has been facing a severe slowdown with falling sales and piling inventory. The reasons appear to be manifold including NBFS crisis, rising fuel costs, increased axle load limit etc. To help the industry revive, the government has stepped in and has announced few measures to help it come out of this crisis.
