GST which is perhaps the most significant and complex tax reform introduced in the history of independent India, ushers in a new era of tax administration and compliances.

GST being a transaction tax, which subsumes most of the erstwhile Indirect taxes levied by the Centre and States, requires significant realignment of operations including supply chain and logistics, pricing, procurements, accounting and Information Technology (‘IT’) Systems. GST runs on an integrated platform, namely GSTN, which will facilitate automated reporting and administration. This requires businesses to upgrade their existing compliance mechanism to actively interact with the GSTN for timely and accurate compliances.
