In her maiden budget, the newly instated Finance Minister - Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, announced the first full budget of the Modi government 2.0 on 05 July 2019. The budget initiatives were aimed at building an inclusive India, reflecting the government’s focus to progressing to a digitally-forward, skilled, and sustainable nation.
With accelerated development targeted for the next couple of years, to build a USD 05 trillion economy, the government has unleashed a slew of amendments to spur growth and investments. In the awake of economic slowdown, this budget focused on building infrastructure and attracting foreign investment, in contrast to the interim budget which was a populist one.
The budget entails several ambitious policy amendments that if implemented well, will definitely go a long way in improving ease of doing business, enhancing growth along with social welfare & nurturing a robust start-up ecosystem.
