The Union Finance Minister of India, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the final full budget of the Modi government before the parliamentary elections next year. Fiscally prudent, the Budget was aimed at paving a path for growth through consumption and capital expenditure.
Outlining seven priority areas – inclusive development, reaching the last mile, infrastructure and investment, unleashing the potential, green growth, youth power and financial sector, the Budget points to continuity to the government’s economic strategy and an intent to build a strong foundation for shaping developed India.
