Interim Budget 2019

01 February 2019

Today the (interim) Finance Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal, presented the last budget of the present government. Considering the general elections in the country this year, an interim budget was presented.

As expected, the budget presented was an overwhelmingly populist one. With targeted changes proposed to the law, all considerations have been made to ensure that the common man takes it all. The budget proposed no changes impacting foreign investors, however it puts forth a tax proposal aimed at giving impetus to the real estate sector.

Attached is a brief document, outlining the analysis of the provisions of this budget and their potential impact.
